Oregano (Botanical Name: Origanum vulgare) is a popular herb that many people think of as a spice to improve or enhance the flavor of their food, but in truth, it has a wealth of health benefits that most people don’t realize. Two of the most important components of Oregano are rosmarinic acid and thymol, both of which are powerful antioxidant compounds that have been closely linked to reducing oxidative stress in the body. The primary benefits of Oregano are: helps boost your immune system, its beneficial in detoxifying your body, helps in protecting against bacteria that can affect the skin, it also helps in boosting a healthy metabolism and aids in your digestion.
Directions for use:
- Diffusion: Diffuse 3-5 drops or more in the PURELY™ diffuser.
- Topical: To use neat, apply 1-2 drops to desired area. Be sure to test for sensitivity.
- Steam Inhalation: Add 2-3 drops to a cup of steaming water and inhale.
- Ingestion: When using as a supplement, add 1-2 drops per 4 oz of liquid. Use no more than three times per day.
To make a cleaning spray: Mix 15-20 drops (or more) of Oregano to 16 ounces of water in a bottle, to spray as a natural cleaner.
NOTE: S for sensitivity! Oils with this symbol should be properly diluted and tested in a small place prior to full use. This is especially important for use with all children. Usually denotes a "hot oil". Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun for at least 12 hours after applying citrus oils with this symbol.
