A great way to improve the overall condition of your skin is to use one of these body scrub recipes on a weekly basis to exfoliate and deep cleanse your skin. You'll wash away those dead skin cells and the addition of the essential oils will give a healthy glow to your skin.
These body scrub recipes will help to increase circulation while softening and smoothing the skin, leaving you radiant.
Tips and Ideas:
- Use the body scrubs no more than once or twice a week, as overuse can strip your skin of valuable oils
- Do not rub too vigorously on sensitive parts
- Spend more time on areas that tend to be bumpy or rough (yes, you know where I mean!)
- Apply in the shower or standing in the bath tub to avoid getting too messy
- Recipes containing salt or sugar should not be used on very dry or delicate skin
- Finish off applying a natural body moisturizer (I use Simply Aroma's Fractionated Coconut Oil)
- Drink plenty of water to help with the exfoliation and detoxification process
Herbal salt body scrub
This invigorating herbal salt body scrub will deep-cleanse as well as tone your entire body. I have chosen two options for your essential oils depending on if you use this in the morning or in the evening.
For an energizing and mind-awakening body scrub use 3-4 drops of Peppermint Oil with 5 tablespoons of sea salt. Mix this together then add 1/2 teaspoon of a carrier oil such as, Immerse or Fractionated Coconut Oil. Mix again thoroughly then add enough water to moisten the mixture.
Apply to the body in deep massaging movements, concentrating on those 'orange peel' areas. Be gentle on more sensitive parts. Rinse off with water.
If you prefer to use this body scrub in the evening or afternoon
then simply replace the Peppermint essential oil with Lavender essential
oil and follow the same method above.

- 5 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
Add the coconut oil to the Epsom salts and mix in well. Add the drops of Lime and Ylang Ylang essential oils and mix again. Store in a clean, sterilized jar and keep in the shower or by the bath. Massage the body scrub into your skin, concentrating on dry, rough areas and avoiding any sensitive areas, including your face. You should use this body scrub at least once a week for best results.
